I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone at Lake Mary Eye Care. Over the years your group has always been very professional and easy to work with. I’m writing this for two reasons: 1st because I hope this might help someone else who does not know about the benefits of GVSS and 2nd because so many things these days are not all they claim to be and bad customer service is everywhere. So when I get more than was expected or great customer service I’ve decided to pat those folks on the back and say job well done!

I remember five years ago inquiring about the Gentle Vision Shaping. Dr. Love told me that at age 40 I was a “guarded” condition and might be able to achieve 20/40 eyesight with GVSS. That 20/40 would be better than the prescribed daily-wear contacts I was using at that time, so it was a “no brainer”.

Dr. Love made the GVSS process very easy to understand and I realized better than 20/20 within a few weeks of that first visit. I still use the GVSS (at last visit 20/25) and do not use any reading glasses. I’m able to SCUBA, skydive and swim without worrying about loosing contacts or blurry vision. I wish GVSS had been available 25 years ago. I tell everyone that Lake Mary Eye Care and GVSS are great. Job well done!

Thanks again & see you next year,

Dear Dr. Love,

The following is my experiences with Corneal Refractive Therapy. You may use this in published testimonials or in other ways to help other patients learn of this type of vision therapy.

I am a 50 year old man who wore contacts for 39 years. My prescription is about -4.00.

I had a friend try GVSS for about 8 months before I decided to do it. He loved the freedom it gave him: No dry eyes in the evening, no contact hassles during the day.

I am a kitchen designer/remodeller. I do work that ranges from computer work to driving to construction work.

My vision was just bad enough to where I knew that my next contact prescription would put me into the category of needing reading glasses. I really wanted my independence from reading glasses and didn't want to get bi-focals. I knew of people who at my stage of eye correction had gotten contacts that corrected one eye for near and one eye for far vision. I just wanted the best vision I could get with freedom from glasses, so I figured that I would try that differential eye correction.

When I was a kid, my first eye Dr. had told me that wearing the hard contact lenses in my teenage years would slow the myopia progression as the contacts put hydrostatic pressure on the front of my cornea and flatten them somewhat, which would counteract my myopia. Because I had experienced something similar to GVSS I thought I would try it.

The first time I put the GVSS contacts on I was surprised at how much I could feel them in my eye. They felt kind of chunky. The next morning my corneas had become shaped like the contact and I couldn't feel them any more. That morning I went in for an eye check and was already corrected enough to drive legally - in one night!

In a couple of days I had 20-20 vision in my right eye and whatever the vision was that I needed for reading in my left eye. That was quick!

Dr. Love had coached me not to study how well each eye was seeing at different distances. He said it would make my mind hyper sensitive to the vision difference that I had been corrected for, and that if I just let my mind figure it out I could enjoy the differently corrected eyes.

I thought that the hassles of GVSS lenses worn at night would be similar to the hassles of regular contacts worn in the day. After a few weeks I realized that I was loving the freedom of having nothing in my eyes during the day. The contacts never interrupted my sleep and in the morning I just took them out! That is cool!

So, several months down the road and I am really enjoying GVSS. Thank you Dr. Love for your comfortable manner, good product and good coaching.

Sincerely,
Doug Hamilton

We purchased GVSS devices by Paragon CRT for our 11-year-old daughter Danielle in April 2010 and have been very pleased. It took about a week for her to become proficient at inserting them in her eyes at bedtime, but she persevered and now she says it is "like a miracle" that she can see again without glasses. Three months later, her vision during the day is 20/20 in one eye, and 20/25 in the other. It is so nice for swimming, and other sports, for her not to have to worry about glasses or contacts.

Her last glasses prescription was -3.75 in one eye, and -4.75 in the other, so we are hopeful that the devices, in addition to correcting her vision, will halt or slow the progression of her myopia. Preliminary results from studies that we researched seem to indicate that this is a possibility.
