Winifred “Teddi” Wharff

During a routine eye exam, Dr. Love recommended an MRI test be done, as he was concerned with some unfound problems.

The MRI detected a Meningeal Tumor located between the back of my brain and skull. A specialist surgeon successfully removed the tumor. I truly believe Dr. Love’s skill and thoroughness saved my life.

Earlier parts of this year, 2008, I felt like my vision was not correct. I was recommended to Dr. Love by a friend. I saw Dr. Love on March 15th and he immediately found something wrong. He then sent me for a MRI of the brain, which ultimately resulted in my having neuro- surgery, which was successful.

Thanks to Dr. Love and his staff at Lake Mary Eye Care for the quick action that they took I got my vision back. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Love and his staff for their help and for anyone out there that have any problems with their vision it is important to see an eye doctor.

I am 80 years old and started wearing glasses at the age of six. My eyes have had many problems over the years. My parents saw that I had the best care and followed all the instructions given by doctors.

Now I have serious trouble, 'wet macular degeneration'. Dr. Robert Love discovered fluid behind the retina and made an appointment for me with Dr. Thomas Barnard a few days later, at the FLorida Retina Center. Dr. Barnard treated me for my retinal condition. I will never miss a visit with my doctors. My vision is better than it has been in years! I can read my books again. I can crochet again and the television is clear.

I would be blind by now, but thanks to Dr. Love and Dr. Barnard, I have hope".

"I am so happy that I brought my son to your vision therapy program. His reading skills increased substantially, but most important, he stopped getting headaces from ready after taking vision therapy. I recommend your program for anyone considering vision therapy.

“My daughter had some learning disabilities and was held back her third grade year. We didn't know what was happening until we met Dr. Love, he diagnosed the problem and we went through vision therapy. Dr. Love suggested a couple of commputer programs along with weekly visits with the vision therapist, and we had some homework assigned also. Now madi reads so much more fluently. I strongly recommend Lake Mary Eye Care.”

"Craig has not shown any indication of "lazy" eye since he has been working with Vision Therapy. Even though he has glasses, he has not needed to use them because his eyes are working as a team, giving him much stronger vision. Craig has always looked forward to his therapy. It's encouraging to know that he finds it enjoyable."

"We spent all summer going to audiologists, neuropsychologists and other eye doctors all in hopes of finding out what was wrong and how to help him. Zach had 20/20 vision. He had been screened at school, at his pediatric checkups and by another eye doctor. It was not until a friend suggested we go to Dr. Love that we finally got a clue. Zach, while having 20/20 vision, was found to have inadequate eye tracking skills, inadequate focusing ability and inadequate eye teaming skills. In a short while most of us can see the letters standing still in "word formation" what Zach saw was a jumble of letters moving around on the page. How was he to know which letters belonged together? I imagine that it would be like trying to reada bowl of alphabet soup!

Dr. Love advised us to enroll in his "in-office Vision Therapy" lead by a very talented and engaging Miss Tara. The "in-office therapy" would take around 6 months followed by 6-12 months of in home exercises. While Zach really liked Miss Tara and really wanted to work to make her proud there were times when he was fed up with the whole thing. His eyes would get tired and sometimes hurt after therapy but after a few months I "caught him" reading the joke off a popsicle stick. He was now able to tell me when his eyes were "messing with him" and he needed a break. His eyes grew gradually stronger and he grew more confident in his own ability to hold the letters steady so that he could read them.

During Zach's vision therapy my husband and I had decided to home school him. This would allow him the accomodations he needed with regard to his vision therpay. Following his successful graduation of Dr. Love's Vision Therapy Zach continued to home school but we enrolled the help of a reading specialist who teaches children with special needs (such as dyslexia and others) to catch him up on spelling and reading rules. By now he was 2 years behind his peers because of his inadequate eye focusing, tracking and teaming. We felt that we needed to complete the vision training before he could truly master reading. It is, after all, very difficult to work on your reading skills if the letters refuse to stay still.

It is now two years since we first met Dr. Love. At the time we were frantic to help our boy but we had no idea how. Thanks to Dr. Love's discerning diagnosis and Vision Therapy Zach has now returned to school reading at the top tenth percentile of Seminole county's fourth grade students. And, he never was held back, as the school insisted.

I recognize that there are some eye doctors and physicians who scoff at Vision Therapy. In my mind there is no question about it. The conditions are real and Vision Therapy helps the patients overcome it. My son would still be struggling had it not been for Dr. Love and Miss Tara."
